Servometer electroformed metal bellows are utilized for metallic hermetic seals, volume compensators, pressure and temperature sensors, flexible connectors, and countless other applications where quality, dependability, and long life are critical requirements.  Metal bellows using electrodeposition create flexibility, protection, motion, and balance for systems requiring precise, repeatable results.  Servometer is the foremost manufacturer of electrodeposited bellows.Electrodeposited (or electroformed) bellows are available in various materials to ensure the proper design for the application.  Servometer electrodeposited (electroformed) bellows are lightweight, seamless, leak tight, flexible and repeatable.  Standard sizes are available through our FC Bellows Product line.  Servometer’s experienced engineering and manufacturing staff can design and assemble finished components to simplify our installation and increase performance.

Servometer Advantages

The Servometer electroforming process allows careful control of the bellows wall thickness. Because the bellows walls can be made thinner than the other types (down to 0.0003 inch), they are extremely sensitive and well suited for precision instrument applications. The bellows can provide large deflections with only very minute forces – as small as 4 grams.

Servometer electroformed bellows are available in various nickel and nickel alloy configurations.  Servometer offers three nickel alloy options to ensure the best performance.

Other companies have tried to replicate Servometer’s chemistry, but remain unsuccessful in creating an accurate, repeatable bellows with high cycle life and leak-tight construction.

Servometer bellows can be designed for compression strokes up to 60% of their free length.

Combined with a greater ID/OD ratio, this gives electroformed bellows a volume displacement capacity equal to or larger than most other types of bellows.

Servometer bellows have a normal minimum life of 100,000 cycles, and can be designed for “infinite” life.

Servometer bellows are seamless and non-porous. No dust, dirt or moisture can lodge in seams and cause contamination in critical applications.

Servometer can manufacture bellows leak tight to 1 x 10-9 std cc/sec, verified by mass spectrometer.

Many of today’s sophisticated applications require miniature bellows. Servometer miniature bellows can be made as small as 0.020 inches in diameter, smaller than any other type of bellows, and still retain full sensitivity and flexibility.

Servometer’s agile manufacturing process produces bellows with minimal tooling, allowing even low quantities at reasonable prices.
