SMC flexible shaft couplings use electrodeposited bellows technology to ensure precise measurements and tolerances with an all metal construction. Bellows couplings have zero backlash, torque ranges from 1 Ncm to 2400 Ncm, low elastic windup, zero cyclic speed variation, low side thrust, and low movement of inertia.SMC bellows couplings can be used in applications that require angular misalignment or parallel misalignment. The bellows technology offers the greatest combined misalignment value of any coupling on the market, resulting in simple instalation. SMC couplings can be installed in two common configurations. Two set screw at 120 degrees apart can connect directly to customer instrumentation or an integral clamping hub can also be chosen from our standard product line. Our standard end pieces are manufactured from high strength alumimum to ensure operation in robust applications. Bore sizes are available from 2mm up to 25.4 mm (1 inch).
